9 Weeks

Here we are at 9 weeks!  I've gained 1.5 lbs.  I blame Christmas.  :-)

Jamie informed me last night that we forgot to bake cookies for Santa.  I told her it was okay because he gets so many.  She thought about it for a second and said "next year, we should leave him some veggies since he gets so many cookies."  I Concur!

I bought my first maternity/nursing top for this baby last week when I meet my longest friend, Jill, for a day of lunch and shopping!  We've known each other since I was a few weeks old.  It is always nice meeting up with her!

Daryl had to go back to work today.  It was nice having him home for the Christmas Break.  The kiddos are going to miss their play buddy and I'm gonna miss getting to sleep in every other morning.  Oh, and I'll miss Daryl, too.  ;-)

I can't believe Evan's Birthday is in 12 days.  Where has the time gone?!?!?!  He is such a joy.  He is my snuggle bug.  He would like nothing better than to lay on the couch all balled up next to me, rubbing my face or neck and giving me Eskimo kisses.  He totally has me wrapped.  He is saying so many things now.  He didn't talk as quickly as Jamie, but he sure does understand what you say.  And he is SUCH a mimic!  Everything Jamie says or does, he does too.

She plays drums, he plays drums.  He wears her hat.
He wears her skate gloves
She lays down to read a book, guess who is with her?  (This was before he got his big boy bed)

He LOVES "Jayyyny" It is so sweet.  He will just run up and give her a big hug.  Don't get me wrong, when it isn't a love-fest, they are trying to kill each other, but you cherish the sweet moments and try not to run out of the house screaming the others.  I look forward to see what he thinks of the new baby.

Staying Fit a little Bit

So Daryl got me this cool little fitness tool for Christmas.  It is called a Fitbit One.

It is SOOO neat!  It is a pedometer on steroids.  It lets me know how many calories I can eat, how far I've walked, how many calories I've burned, how many floors I've climbed,I can track my water intake and calories consumed via the phone app.  It even tracks my sleep and keeps track of how much I sleep and how often I wake up.  VERY nice way to keep everything in check with baby on the way.

Jamie and Evan were both big babies even though I only gained 30 lbs with each, so I'm gonna try to gain less with this one, and the fitbit will be a big helper in that, I'm sure.

I also ran for the 1st time since my race on Turkey Day.  It was ROUGH.  Daryl stuck with me, though and then we finished with a few mile walk so we were able to talk and that is always nice.  The run did put me back in the running mindset so hopefully I can get back with the program now.  It was also very satisfying to see my step count go from 500 to 16000 after the run.  Fitbit is also making the whole family more active because I needed to burn some more calories so we all went outside for a walk / Power Wheel Jeep ride.

Jamie LOVES her new wheels and is actually a pretty good driver.  Evan is content to be the passenger and loves to ride shotgun.  Jamie definitely makes it a fun ride!  I almost had 3 heart attacks, but she was all over it.

Merry Christmas To All

I ALWAYS WANTED THIS!!!  This was the phrase Jamie said after opening all of her presents.  She had a BLAST!  This was probably the best Christmas we've had with the kids.  They really did enjoy themselves.

All the grandparents spent Christmas Eve at our house.  Nana slept with Jamie, I slept with Evan, my parents slept in our bed.  Luckily, Daryl got a camping cot from my parents, so he slept on that. haha.

I got a vitamix!  I'm totally stoked!  Daryl is going through the recipe books as I type figuring out what special concoctions we will be making this week.

Jamie bought Daryl a gun that shoots these paint-ball-esque thingys.  She was so proud.

Evan liked my new running hat.

Santa was on his A-game this year!  Jamie got a red Jeep

And Evan got Thomas the train engines & track for the table I got for a STEAL at a consignment sale a few months ago.

Evan loves his new tent with tunnel.

The Family Pic.  Yes, Evan is holding a cookie.  Yes, we bribed him to smile.

We also hosted Christmas Day for the whole family.  We had 17 people here and we had a blast.  The food was DIVINE!

Here we go again - 8 weeks

PREFACE:   So while pregnant with Evan, I found my Jamie blog to be very helpful to me.  I was frank and accurate, and that helped me to compare the two because you forget all of that stuff.  Since it helped me, maybe it will help you, so any of my friends out there thinking of adding to their brood, maybe my blog will help, so I will just lay it all out there:  The good & the bad.  The good isn't a slap on the back, the bad isn't a cry for sympathy.  It just is what it is.

Ok, on to the post!

So anyone who has followed my blog my past two pregnancies will not be surprised to see this outfit again.  ;-)  We are at 8 weeks now, and I'm starting to get morning sickness more frequently.  I've had mild episodes starting at 6 weeks, but they were short and infrequent.  Now I will get at least a minor wave of nausea at least once a day.  Greeeeaaaat.

It was a struggle finding the outfit, but after going through every draw and tearing my closet apart, I was able to find these two stellar pieces. haha.  So far I've gained 2 pounds, and then lost them, and then gained them, and then lost them, so I'm gonna average out and say I've gained one lb.

Things sure are different with the third.  I feel like I've "popped" a lot sooner.  Luckily I dropped a few pant sizes while training for the marathon so I just pulled my bigger pants out and I've been wearing them.  My measurements haven't really changed, things just feel "better" in baggy pants.  You know how when you sit down, if you are wearing pants that fit, they kind of dip in? Well, that isn't comfy.  So now my pants are comfy when I sit and falling off when I stand.  Such is life.  My maternity clothes are all for the wrong season (boy, didn't think this one through) so I'm glad I have some segue clothes to help get me through the first trimester.

So I hope everyone has a great Christmas!  We are enjoying Christmas Eve with our parents and my grandma and then Christmas Day with the extended family.  Of course pictures will follow.  :-)

My Children and Their Hobbies

So Evan is into trains.  Like he has a problem.  Trains and Elmo.

Jamie is into Dance & Gymnastics

She had her "award" ceremony today.  She got to show off her skills.

Oh, the places you will go...

So we've been able to go on a few trips since Mr. Evan made his debut.

We took the kiddos to Destin which was fun.  Evan didn't care for the sand, but he sure didn't mind eating it.  Sheesh.  Jamie got out in the ocean some until a wave went over her and Daryl and then she was good.  But that trip cemented the fact that we would NOT be going on anymore long car trips for a few more months.  Man that boy can scream.

Then we went to Lake Oconee for Daryl's work.  We stayed in a nice cabin and mostly just did the nature walk thing.

Daryl and I did our own thing when he took his mom and me to see Wicked at the Fox

We braved Disney world for Evan's 1st Birthday and  Daryl and I also ran the Half Marathon and then Daryl ran the Full Marathon the next day. The guy is a stud.  Our parents went with us to help watch the kids (ok, they COMPLETELY watched the kids while we were running!)

Ever since this day, Evan has had a thing for girls with dark hair....

During the same trip, we went to Sea World and also stayed at the Nickelodeon Hotel, which the kids loved.

And most recently, we went to the Ga Aquarium, which is always a treat.

Poor Evan got left out of our last trip.  We took Jamie camping with Daryl's Bro's Family & another family.  We stayed at Fort Mountain.  Jamie can't wait to go camping again. She loved it.

We made it to the top!

 Adrenaline junky
Jamie LOVED her walking stick.  I think we still have it in the garage somewhere.

The whole gang.
