What's better than shopping???

Shopping with friends!!! Today, we meet up with the Henson's (ie, the first link on my blog friends) and shopped at the North GA Outlets. We finally got some pics of our 3 kid-os together, Jamie, Marleigh & Davis:
Let's just say, we were a stroller force to be reckoned with - we had 3 strollers! The ladies... One asleep and one on her way. Daddies & their daughters. (we are hoping to ween Tim from his paci this year... he only needs it at nap time.)

4 Month Check-up

Jamie had her 4 month check-up today. The doc said she is the perfect baby...duh! We already knew that! She is in the 95th percentile for both height and weight...17 lbs 9 oz & 26 inches long. She said what I already told ya'll, breast fed babies gain quickly up to 6 months but then tapper off after that... and since she started off at 8#4, she is just gonna be bigger. But Jamie laughed the whole appointment (probably because she was naked and babies love to be naked) and she did all of her parlor tricks for the doc: raising up big on her tummy, sitting up by herself, standing in my lap... all that good stuff. She did NOT enjoy the shots, but who does??? I was impressed though because by the time we were out at the desk to make the 6 month appointment, she had already stopped crying. She has been sleepy tonight but in a VERY good mood when she has been awake. . On a personal note, my fever finally broke last night and I'm feeling MUCH better! YAY! . Today I took this video of Jamie with her Leap Frog. Every time I would play the music, she would get the BIGGEST grin so I figured I would video it. I wish I could get that excited about the alphabet! Enjoy!

uggg.....

Tomorrow Jamie goes in for her 4 month doc appt. I'm NOT looking forward to her getting more shots! I'm afraid the doc is going to try to put J on a diet since I'm guessing she is around 17 lbs. We find out for sure tomorrow. But all the research I have read says that breast fed babies are bigger than formula fed up to 6 months and then they start slimming down after 6 months once they start crawling, so I'm not gonna worry about it.
.
The only other thing that has been going on this week is that I have that cold that has been going around - high fever, vicious cough, stuffy nose - that lasts about 2 weeks. I'm tired of wearing a surgical mask whenever I hold Jamie. My mom, mom-in-law & Daryl have been great about taking care of Jamie so I can avoid contact with her... I don't want her to get this. But I must admit, I miss being able to love on my baby!!!
.
And since I haven't been up to taking pictures, here is a look at how much changes in 4 months!

Yummmmm....

So Jamie has finally mastered the art of eating from a spoon without pushing the food out with her tongue. YAY!!!! It took a few tries today, but she finally got it. I made a yawning face and she opened up big and in went the spoon and lo and behold, no milk came back out! This video was taken after she figured it all out and started opening wide when she new the spoon was on its way. So at dinner tonight, we'll add in a little rice cereal. We figured we would just use milk while she practiced.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a wonderful day. We had our family over to our house this year for Easter lunch after church. Our parents, Daryl's Brother and his family, and our sister-in-law's family all came over. Unfortunately, my grandparents have bad colds so they couldn't come and they were missed! .
Here are some pictures of Jamie this morning in her Bunny PJs
With her Easter Basket... she got money from the bunny for her college fund while she still appreciates getting money for her education and not dolls & candy.
And here's the DIVA in her Easter Dress.
And her admirers
It was COLD today so here she is in her pretty sweater from Nana and cute little shoes from Great-Grandmomma.

Happy 4 Month Birthday!

My little peanut is 4 months old today! I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like only yesterday we brought home a screaming baby and now I have this happy little person living with me. She changes a little each day and I can't wait to wake up and see what her new gift will be. Today was the first day we tried to give her rice cereal. She mostly pushed it out with her tongue... better luck next time. We video taped it, but didn't get any pictures. We will take some pictures at the next feeding. Also, J chose to commemorate her big day by sleeping for TWO AND A HALF hours in her crib!!! I got SO much done! Here are some pictures of Miss J today after she woke up - quite refreshed and happy, I must say!

The Sit-uation

So Jamie LOVES to sit and stand. She makes us help her do it all the time. If she is laying down, she wants to sit. If she is sitting she wants to stand. Go, Go, Go.... that is Jamie. Well, all of that practice is paying off! She can now sit on her own for a minute of two. And she is starting to understand that you don't stare blankly at the camera.... here is her new "oh look, a camera!" smile. She has also discovered that she can use her hands to better hold herself up. I discovered this while she was keeping herself from lying down on the changing table.

Catching up

I realized that I had some pictures on my camera that I wanted to add to the blog and now is a perfect time because Jamie is sound asleep in her crib for the SECOND TIME today! This is a world record as Jamie is terribly spoiled and I've finally decided it is time for her to be a big girl and start napping in her room instead of on me or near me. We are working towards her moving from our room to her room at night and a friend of mine who has two adorable girls that she nursed on demand like I'm doing, gave me some good advice... which I should have been doing all along, but I hate to say no to Miss Priss... so anyways, on to the pictures! Ok, so this one isn't from my camera, but good none-the-less. My mom and dad came by yesterday and spent the day with us. Jamie loves her Grandmomma and Paw Paw to pieces! As promised, a picture of J going to town on her index finger. and finally Aunt Carol, Aunt Carol, Aunt Carol (this is the mantra that Carol said over and over to my ever expanding belly at work) Carol is one of my favorite people. We worked together at XINNIX and she has adopted Jamie as her niece. Her and her husband Allen are the coolest and always do nice things for us.

Mellow Yellow

We have been bad parents and not taken any pics of Jamie in awhile so this morning (since Daryl is working from home today) I called for him to bring up the camera since Jamie was just looking so cute in her yellow PJs. We decided today was a good day for a photo shoot since we can't do them at night due to her teething which equals WAAAAAAA!!!! So here are a few of the pics from today. She is wearing my yellow dress from when I was her age. One of the benefits of having a baby girl 2 days before the day I was born is she can wear some of my old clothes since they are the right size for the right season.
Nana came by today so here is a cute picture of the two of them. She is standing so well! I barely have to help her. She is sitting up well also. My baby is growing up too fast!!!

And this last picture is for Mrs. Chris. It's not exactly the same, but you get the gist. :-)
