Snowpocalypse 2014.

So the last time it snowed (I'm talking Virginia Snow, not Florida Snow) was the day I gave birth to Evan.  It has been relatively tame here in Georgia ever since, much to the chagrin of my children.  Jamie is old enough to remember snow, Evan is old enough to know Jamie has experienced something he hasn't, which is UNACCEPTABLE!!!  Well, that all changed this week.  For Georgia to get this much snow without every weatherman (sans tie with rolled-up sleeves) there to tell us to "stay in doors or fear the wrath of God!"  .... everyone was out Tuesday.

Luckily, Jamie made it home on the bus with little incident.  Even though the trip scared her.  It took her a few hours before she would tell us about the trip.  She said the bus slipped some and Mrs. Donna kept telling everyone to stop talking so she could focus.  Jamie said "Cate and I kept our lips shut!"

There was a lot of slipping and sliding on the street our subdivision is off of.  You can see here how it was just a solid white sheet of ice still on Wednesday morning.  The grey part is our subdivision.  You can't tell from the picture, but it is a hill, so it was sun bathing and happy while the rest of the world stayed frozen.

Nana ended up skidding about 8 miles from our house, on the way home Tuesday and hit a tree.  The road we live off of was completely shut down thanks to multiple mid-road wrecks in every direction, so there was no way we could get to her.  Luckily, while Daryl was calling everyone we could think of to save her, I was able to figure out that she was across from a Senior Living Center and I called them and two wonderful women came out in the snow and walked her into their building.  She stayed there until she decided to get checked out at the hospital because she was pretty sore.  After a police escort by ambulance, she ended up at the hospital our neighbor-friend works at so I texted our neighbor and she made sure that Nana was well taken care of plus was able to hitch a ride back with our neighbor when her shift ended early Wednesday back to our house.

But among the drama, there was FUN!  Nothing is more special or important to a Georgian child than SNOW!!!

The snow was still powder on Thursday!  So while Daryl & David went to dig Nana's car out of the ditch, the kids wanted to go out while Cason was asleep.... hmmm.... what's a momma to do?  You corral them, that's what you do.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

My sweet boy.  Oh how I love his hair.  

He always gets compliments on his cute blonde curls.  AND a few "what a pretty girl!"   wooooo.... wait a second.  Since 3 is kindof the threshold of being old enough to tell if a kid is a boy or girl, and his hair WAS getting a little too luscious, it was a joint parental decision to cut the boys hair.  I'm almost 100% we are going to get the sad face from all of the grandmas, but it was time...

(I'm not gonna lie, I make the sad face too, but his new cut IS pretty darn cute on him).

Happy 3rd Birthday, Evan!

Wow!  That went by fast!  I can't believe my little baby is THREE and now there is another baby!  Evan had SUCH a great time at his party.  At first, we were going to take him and Jamie to a jumpy place and then have the family over for lunch and then on a car ride somewhere, Evan informed me that he was "so excited, my friends come to my party!".... um.....  So we had a party! haha. There are two little boys in the neighborhood that are near his age and I'm friends with their moms and Jamie's best buddy Jackson has a sister Evan's age and they have played together when we get the elder kids together.  So 3 friends for 3 years.  Perfect.

1st he said he wanted another Thomas Party.... It was like Jamie and the Pirates all over again, but then he changed his mind and wanted Super Heroes.  Awesome!  Even better since Jackson just had a Superhero party and his mom let me borrow the decorations.  Sweet! 

BONUS:  all my kids have a super hero costume!!!  Whew!

Evan REALLY wanted a "pin-ah-ja" so he was our bad guy and all the superheroes took a swing at him.  Evan ran after every piece of candy that randomly flew out.  Once the mother-load hit, it was like Christmas.

Evan picked out his cake AND his candles.  He insisted that he have 

"DEES CANDLES!!  DEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!"

When he started opening his presents he would say every time 

"Dis is mine!  ....  Dis is mine, too!!!"

And then he gave all the kids a hug.  So sweet.

So Evan slept thru the first half, and Cason slept thru all of it, but Jamie enjoyed the full event!!!

When Evan finally woke up, he was excited!  About everything!  Even underwear!

It's The Most busy Wonderful Time Of The Year

So yea, WOW.  Been busy.  Much to tell!  

Jamie had her school Thanksgiving Program.  She was an Indian Woman.  I asked her if she had a speaking part and she said "YES!!!  I get to say 'Shhh!', like, 5 or 6 times!!!"  She was so excited,

Cason is now FIVE months old!!!  But his last check-up was at 4 months, so these were his stats then:   17lb, 2oz.  25.25 in.

He also has two teeth now!  Yay for chompers!  He has had them for a few weeks now.  Luckily, he hasn't decided to bite me, yet.  whew!

In other medical news, I gave myself a stress fracture from running too much.  Lovely.  Looks like no March Marathon for me.  Guess I will have to wait until the Fall.  :-(

Jamie had her Christmas Luncheon at School and Evan and I joined her.  He LOVES eating lunch at Jamie's school with her.  He thinks it is the neatest thing.  But he is a slow eater and he insists we bring his leftovers home.... thank goodness for Styrofoam trays!

I was able to volunteer at her Christmas party, too.... and I just realized we both wore the same outfits to both events that were weeks apart.... awesome. haha.

And then it was Christmas!

It is weird having a kid in REAL school and having actual vacation time.  It was nice having her home, when she WAS home... she spent 3 nights at Memaw & Paw Paw's and 3 nights at Nana's.  A girl can handle two brothers only so much!

And then came the daunting task of taking pictures for our Christmas Cards.... with three kids.... trying to get them to smile... all of them.... at one time... like, TOGETHER.
