34 Weeks

So we have made it to 34 weeks!!!

34 weeks means something different to me this time, because it means if I go into labor at any point from here on out, they won't try to stop it.  With my other two (induced on their due date) this didn't matter, but considering I had contractions at 4 minutes apart for 3+ hours Wednesday night, I am all of a sudden aware of this hospital rule.   Luckily the contractions didn't "change" anything and he is still snug in his one-man condo, but that surprise midnight trip to Labor & Delivery was an eye-opener.  Before I was worried about having to induce him to get him out like his siblings, now I just want him to stay in.  So here is to hoping for a happy medium - stay in at LEAST until 37 weeks, but be out by 39.5.... okay?   :-)

33 Weeks

I'm lucky to have such a great Dad and Husband who is also a great Dad!  I don't have lots of pictures of them, because they are always doing this:

We've made it to 33 weeks.  Daryl and I keep forgetting to take pictures so here is a selfie I took this morning after I woke up and thought "We really need to do a belly shot today".  I went to the doctor last week for my 32 week appt. and I've gained 27 lbs.  He was happy with that, so I guess I can't complain.  I told him about my frequent contractions (I had a ton after trying to jog 2 weekends ago).  I thought they were Braxton Hicks since I've only had Pitocin induced contractions up until this point, and they H-U-R-T!!!   I had one in the office and he said it was a "real" one and not Braxton Hicks so he checked me out and I am 50% effaced, but no dilation, so I have to take it easy until we hit 34 weeks to be sure Cason keeps baking a little longer.  So far, the resting has helped and the contractions have slowed down.

We took Evan for his MRI this week.  His brain ventricles have not grown any so we don't have to go back!!! YAY!!!!  He needs to see the Specialized Optometrist in one year to be sure there is still no pressure, but no MRI.  Whew!   We were there for 6 hours Wednesday.  half of that was Evan looking at this train.  ;-)

And I started getting Cason's things washed.  Jamie is a GREAT sock sorter.  Good thing, too, since the kid has 60 pairs of 0-6 mth socks.  How did that happen?!?!

Jamie spent the weekend with my parents, and they took her to the Tellus Museum.  Jamie is all about some dinosaurs so she REALLY liked it. 

We made a cool necklace with some of the sea shells Jamie found at the beach.

...So it was nap time, and Evan heard Jamie playing with her DSi.  He flipped and had to have the MobiGo.  This is how we found him 10 minutes later.

It was hot, I was lazy, he was happy - Success.

Day One:  Arrival!

We instantly caved to my sea food cravings and ate dinner at the Pier House.  It helped it was in walking distance from our hotel.  It was so good, even if Evan was going stir crazy from sitting in the car for so long.  Luckily, we were the only people there for the first 30 minutes, and the rest of the meal, there were two other families with small kids.  whew!

 Daddy found a crab.  Evan wouldn't let it go.... it stayed in our room the whole time.  Poor thing.

Day Two: Beach, Pool, Pier & Aquarium (and of course Ice Cream for dinner!)

 Jamie LOVED the lazy river.   It didn't hurt that it was heated, either.  Evan finally decided to go in our little float. 

Cason likes the beach, too.... he keeps trying to kick his way out!  :-)

While Evan & Mom napped, Dad & Jamie went to the Pier.  She saw a school of Sting Rays (which Daryl is pretty sure he saw while he was way out in the ocean swimming - and QUICKLY hauled tail back to shore) and a Jelly Fish and a Small Shark a fisherman caught.  She liked the pier.

No trip to the beach is complete without sea life!  

 These two LOVE aquariums!  They had a blast even though it was almost EXACTLY like the one we went to a few months ago when we went snow skiing.

 Then Ice Cream for dinner - of COURSE!   (On our behalf, we DID have a late lunch.)

What pregnant lady can turn down ice cream?  NONE I tell you! 

 Day Three:  Putt Putt, Horseback Riding & Beach

We slept in some and went out for brunch.  The place that yelp said was the best place to go was in the middle of an RV park, so we tried another restaurant and it was pretty much what IHOP looked like in the mid 80's.  Oh well.  So after that, we went to this pretty nifty indoor/outdoor putt-putt place called Cancun Lagoon.  There are 3 courses and you can pick 2 to play.  It was inside a Mayan Pyramid.  After that, Evan and mom took a nap and Dad & Jamie went on a 2 hour horseback ride.  They had a blast!  Jamie didn't care for "gallop mode" but enjoyed the rest of the ride.

After dinner at a sub-par Mexican restaurant (we were 0 for 2 on meals this day), we went and put on our matchy-match outfits for the mandatory family beach pictures.

And then my clean children were eaten by these dirty ones.

So we decided to "fly" our trick kite.  The trick was on us because where you see it below is where it spent most of the time... on the ground!!!  But luckily it has two handles so they each got one to hold.  Crisis averted! 

Day four: Beach

We spent the morning exploring the beach.  We found some great ocean life today down at the pier.  (This day was chronicled via video, so no pics, sorry!)  There were all of these little fish that swim up the shore in the morning.  Daryl was able to catch them and Evan loved holding them and letting them go.  Some people near us found a starfish at the pier, so that was cool.  I almost stepped on a flounder, so we all held that for awhile, and while looking at the flounder, a crab walked by so we played with that, too.  Jamie saw some barnacles popping out, so she thought that was pretty neat.  On our walk back from the pier, Jamie found a small crab which came thisclose to being our pet (i.e. dead meat).  But Evan decided it was ok to finally let it go.  

During Nap time, Daryl & Jamie went back to the pier for ice cream for lunch.   Once Evan decided to wake up, we headed out for some pizza for dinner (followed by more ice cream - do you see a trend here?)  Then we did our souvenir shopping right before the rain hit.  Perfect timing since the day was pretty much over so we spent the evening relaxing in the room and packing up.

Day five: Homeward Bound

We got in one last round of putt-putt before hitting the road.  

We also visited Daryl's Aunt on the way home.  The kids were tuckered out from a fun filled vacation.  SUCCESS!!!   :-)
