Potty - Peek - Potty
So Jamie has started doing a new thing this week when she goes potty: She will start the stream a going (and say "Zzzz" at the same time - my fault there) and I will applaud, she smiles, stands up, looks at what she has done, sits down, and finishes. At least I know she has good bladder control to be able to stop half way to check out her progress. So funny!!! She is so nosy! Many people have suggested giving her a treat when she goes, but she LOVES toilet paper so when she goes, I let her roll out a few sheets and she is SOOO excited! Thank goodness because TP is cheaper than snacks!
And to answer any questions - no, she does not tell me when she needs to go. I just have to ask her often and she will either say No or won't say anything - when she doesn't say anything, that means she needs to go. She can say Yes, she just doesn't WANT to go potty and she hasn't grasped the concept of lying yet. :-)
I also tracked her diapers for a few days so I have a general idea of when she WILL go potty and I just try to get her on the potty at those times. - I don't even ask in the morning or after a nap because if I say "potty" she will start going in her diaper - we do not pass go - we go straight to the potty because she is about to pop when she first wakes up.
If I ever ask her and she says No - I don't make her go... she is still little and I don't want her to hate the potty. Right now she is cool with it so that is good enough for me!

16 Months and Growing!
It is so hard to believe we already have a 16 month old! She is growing so fast. Everyday she seems to know so much more. Her vocabulary has really grown and she is starting to say little two word sentences (go ride, all done, there it is, take bath, hey you, thank you). She is also picking up on and saying funny phrases, like "Uh Oh, Sgettio" and "Upsy Daisy". So Cute! She is a girl who KNOWS what she wants and is starting to have daily tantrums - like if we don't take her outside or make her come back inside. FIT! But she is still a very sweet baby and is becoming a big snuggler which I LOVE! She has FINALLY started saying "mama" consistently. If you asked her where mama is, she would look at me and smile, but she wouldn't say it, but now she does. But "da-ddy" now THAT is a word that she will say all day. :-) She LOVES her daddy! And Airplanes... we live in a landing pattern and EVERY time she hears one: "Air-Pane!" and she points and runs to the window. LOVES them. We are flying to Disney in May so I can't wait to see what she does when she is on a real "air-pane".
She is just picking up on so much now. I love to hear her try to say new words. Oh, and she is walking up and down the stairs by herself now (when there is a railing she can hold onto). She LOVES to go up & down stairs. Her Nana has taught her to count stairs, so she will count them as she climbs, but ALWAYS leaves out "one" go figure. She can make it to four and then either starts over with two or says random letters of the alphabet. So funny!
And in other news....
I FINALLY finished an outfit that fits Jamie! Woo Hoo!

Stir Crazy
So we found out yesterday that Jamie has Chicken Pox brought on by the vaccine. On Saturday, we noticed 4 "bites" on her tummy. Then they became worse, then Sunday there were 3 more. I called the Nurse Hotline and they said it didn't sound like Chicken Pox but to take her to the Urgent Care since they didn't like that some of them had white stuff in them (fear of infection). Well, we found out that if they THINK you have chicken pox, you are in and out of Urgent Care FAST!!! And they confirmed that she does have them. Luckily they don't itch and she hasn't ran a fever. I think her new tooth coming in is hurting her more than the pox. But as such, she is on quarantine until this coming weekend. Luckily, she has lots of new toys from the consignment sale and also this awesome tent from one of our neighbors!!

OU-SIIIIIIGHHHH!!!
So today was about one thing.... being OUTSIDE!!!! Jamie has had a taste of it these last few nice days and wants MORE! Today we went out to help Daryl do yard work. We will have a veggie garden this year on one side of the yard and a butterfly garden on the other. So Daryl did a lot of shoveling dirt, so Jamie and went outside to keep him company. We went out a little earlier than planned (still in PJs) and when I tried to bring her back in to change clothes she FREAKED so needless to say, Jamie played outside in her PJs for a few hours before coming back to change. Then we went to lunch and over to Pike's to look at flowers (outside), then back outside after nap time to the neighborhood playground, then after dinner went BACK out to play in the yard. Here are some pictures from the end of the day.
I love it out here!!

Sew I have a hobby now....
Last year, I decided I would like to take up sewing so my parents bought me a sewing machine for Christmas. Last month I finally had time to take it out of the box and I made a pillow and a pillowcase dress. Both easy projects. Since the pillowcase dress turned out so well, I decided to try a REAL dress. Here is Miss Jamie modeling her first home made dress by Mommy. (please note that I made it too big, but at least she can grow into it - oh well, it was my first try.)
And in other news, we painted our living room.
You can see the before and after color's here (the darker one is the new color). Since we have an open floor plan, we had to leave one wall the old color since it goes right into the foyer, which continues upstairs and down the hall on the second floor - so since we didn't want to change EVERYTHING, here is what the juncture looks like.

Snow Day
We took Jamie out to enjoy the beautiful snow today. She just kept starring at it. I don't think she knew what to think about it all.
With Daddy
at least he didn't do it in his boxers, which was the original dare.
