We had a GREAT party today to celebrate Jamie's first year! I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Bring forth the Cake!

"Happy Birthday to you!"

Her initial reaction to that much sugar

She grew to like it though, as long as she could use her fork.

Her cake before...

and after

After the cake, we cleaned her up and took some pictures:

Ride, Sally Ride!

Miss Jamie received a great surprise yesterday on her birthday. Grandmomma & Paw Paw (my parents) dropped by and brought her a sweet ride! J was running on only a 15 minute nap for the day, and it was 4:00... so she wasn't really "getting it" but this morning, she had it DOWN and was riding all over the house. Here is Miss J in the zone.... Auto Zone....
Here is a short video of her driving....and crashing... her 4 Wheeler.

I love how she looks over to the side like "who put that house there???"

Happy Birthday Princess!!!

Jamie turned One last night at 1:18 AM.... last night, I left her room at 1:11 AM from rocking her back to sleep. I couldn't help but to think that at 1:11 AM last year, they were still trying to decide if she was going to come out the old fashioned way or not. Luckily, she made her entrance into our world shortly there after and has rocked it ever since. She is a bundle of joy (and energy) and has developed such a fun personality. She is so funny and loves to play. She loves to go places and see new people and gets stir crazy if we stay at home too long (which makes mommy VERY happy because she gets stir crazy too!) Her is a picture of her this morning. I couldn't resist putting her birthday hat on!

A very happy un-birthday to me.

My family and I celebrated my 29th birthday this weekend. I wasn't going to do anything for my birthday but my sweet hubby told me I needed to do something to celebrate (since he KNOWS I love birthdays - I really do! I get SOOO excited! I swear I'm 5) so we had the family over and had a great time! My real birthday is on the 21st, but since Jamie's birthday is the 19th, I have officially moved mine to the weekend before hers since Thanksgiving is the weekend after. My nephew "lovingly" brought it to my attention that this will be the last year of the 3rd decade of my life. I told him that I guess this coming year will be my "farewell tour" of my 20's. haha. I must say, all 3 have been great... 0 -10: easy, 10 - 20: pretty good, 20 - now: awesome. Interesting fact: since I turned 20, I have moved 10 times and had 8 different jobs... whew!
Here are some pictures from the party:
Here I am with my favorite birthday gift of all! Last year, my gift was to leave the hospital on my birthday and bring home the daughter I'd always dreamed of.
We had Pizza and Ice Cream cake.... it doesn't get much better than an Oreo Blizzard Ice Cream cake. Yum! (and a shout out to Andrea & Amanda - see, I put the kiddos birth announcements on my fridge) :-)

Jamie getting ready to help me blow out my candle. She didn't know what to think of everyone singing.... A good trial run for her birthday party next weekend!

And a Quick Post about my adventurous hubby. He, his brother, and our neighbor Dan & his brother went caving the weekend before last. They had a great time. Here are some pics from his adventure into the depths!

Standing On My Own Two Feet

Jamie figured out how to stand up on her own without holding onto anything last night!

Yay Jamie!

The Proof is in the Picture

Ok, so this picture proves two things:
1) She did NOT cut her front eye tooth, like I thought
2) Her molar is IN!

I couldn't believe I was able to capture a picture of her molar! I decided to take some pictures of her having her snack and caught her doing a funny grin and in the words of Tag Team "whoomp, there it is"

Here are some more shots of Snack time:

Rice cakes are Delish!
Care for a sip?She always sits so lady like, with her ankles crossed. Jamie giving a fierce pirate face.

Who needs a pack & play?

And yes, this is the infamous box from the last video. We just can't get enough fun out of it!

Worth $10,000???

So Daryl has been pushing Jamie around in this box tonight and she has LOVED it. It was so cute, I thought I would get some video of it. Well, after she began to tire of this, Daryl thought it would be funny for her to push him in the box. Thank goodness I kept filming because THIS happened....

Man...that girl has a GRIP!

Teeth are in.... NOW you may sleep, mommy.

So Jamie has cut 2 more teeth.... she is now done with the front teeth (4 on top, 4 on bottom) and now has one of her first molars on the bottom right hand side. This was causing her (and I) to be awake from 12:00 - 4:00 Thursday night & Friday night. Last night, she slept from 8:30 - 7:00 (before time change). It was AMAZING!!! Of course, I still woke up every hour on the hour to check on her, but it was nice to be able to go back to sleep immediately. - - You will not see a picture of these teeth probably, because taking a picture of a UFO would be easier at this point.

And for all of my UGA fan friends who are in mourning this morning, this is for you (and for Andrea to make up for Jamie being a bee for Halloween). This was my outfit from 1979 - so this is OLD school UGA attire.

So Jamie out grew her Lamb costume so our super nice neighbors let us borrow this cute little Bumble Bee costume! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Walk This Way

So Jamie has begun those first steps! She had mastered the "control fall" where she takes a few steps forward to the person she is falling too. Well yesterday, my parents were here and Paw Paw said "Jamie, it's time to walk" so I sat on one side, and he sat on the other, stood her up, and she took four REAL steps to me! She has been improving every time since. Here is a video of her giving it a go tonight... only a few little stumbles here and there. I think we may have a full on walker by her first birthday... or at least a "walk, walk, fall... walk, walk, fall" -er.

It's a Sign!

So Jamie has learned the sign for more!

(It seems she is making leaps and bounds in the eating department. ha-ha)

Feeding Frenzy!

So Jamie learned how to use her fork. In this snippet, it takes her a little while to get the food on the fork, but by the end of lunch, she had it down.... good thing too because once she started, she REFUSED to let me feed her. She clamped down and shook her head "NO!" We only had a few carrots go flying, but mostly, the food went in her mouth or on her bib (she would let me finger feed her food she dropped on her bib - but NO FORK! - kids!)

Birthday Season

So October/November is Birthday season for us. We have:
  • My Mom
  • Daryl's Brother
  • My Grandmother
  • our Nephew
  • Jamie (also the same day as her Grandpa Bill)
  • Me

This weekend, we celebrated our Nephew's birthday at this neat place in Acworth - it is part blow-up place, part sandbox, part play fort, part gun blaster. Jamie had a great time.... here are some pictures of the fun she had, trying to keep up with the big kids.

11 Months Old

Jamie is 11 months old now. Time has flown by! Her personality is just so cute. She has a great sense of humor and is learning so quickly now.

  • She will grab our noses and just laugh because it makes our voices sound different.
  • She will go to put the paci in my mouth and then take it away and just laugh and laugh because she tricked me.
  • She has begun throwing balls to us now and she will kick her big bouncy ball all over the house.
  • She has begun to take a few steps on her own and can stand for a little bit on her own.
  • She knows what you are saying if you ask her where the fan, light, daddy, mommy, train or ball is.
  • She knows what it means if you ask her if she wants to eat, have some mi-mi (aka nurse), or go outside.
  • She will put the telephone to her ear and say "Ooohhh" like she is trying to say hello.
  • She babbles all the time and makes the funniest sounds.
  • She points to everything when we go for strolls and just babbles on and on about the things she sees. I tell her what they are, but she has yet to say anything yet.
  • She now HATES to have her diaper changed - it is a BATTLE!
  • She plays with her toys so well now. She loves to play. We finished her play room (the first floor extra bedroom) and she loves to crawl in there and play.
  • She loves to go outside. She cries when we bring her back inside. The pictures are from today when we went out. Daryl bought her the coat - SO CUTE! And Jamie can now wear hair bows! YAY!!! I thought it was chilly, but Jamie LOVES it (she likes it kind of cold - like her dad)

"Paci"ing Out

So I need to take some more pictures of Jamie, but in the interim, I have some stories, tricks, and Misc. about our soon to be 11 month old!

So this just happened and every time it does, I just want to bust out laughing. Jamie will wake up about an hour or so after she has gone to bed occasionally and she will be sitting up whining. I stick her paci in her mouth and she FALLS OVER - literally... she falls right over, sound asleep. It is the funniest thing ever. I have to guide her so she doesn't face plant or hit the rails.

Daryl took Jamie down to the basement play area we have set up for her for when she is older, but we have one of those Little Tykes play forts with a slide and Daryl wanted to see if she liked it. He slid her down twice, then sat her at the top and now she will scoot her little tush to the edge and then pull hard and down she goes, all by herself. so cute! I'll try to get some video soon.

Jamie is starting to stand on her own for a few seconds at a time. She does it only when she doesn't realize she isn't holding onto something. The second she realizes it's all her, she leans too far forward to get to whoever is near by and falls into their arms. She will take a few steps on her own. She mostly just uses her toys, kitchen stools, and anything that she can push, as her walker (since she doesn't have one). It looks like she is rearranging furniture.

Jamie has a sick obsession with our TV. She LOVES to push the buttons on the front, which is a no-no. We have tried pulling her away (she crawls right back) saying no firmly as she crawls towards it (she crawls even faster... really) the hand slap (she thinks it's a game and laughs at us - probably because you couldn't kill a gnat with the force we use) Sigh....

Jamie has started playing hide and seek - well, we hide, she seeks. But she LOVES it. She laughs the whole time.

All in all, she is becoming a really fun and energetic toddler.

The Partin's Had a Little Lamb....

So we FINALLY decided what Jamie would be for Halloween. After many generous offers to borrow outfits, Daryl saw this one at Wally World and could not resist. Jamie is the cutest Lamb the world has ever seen. Daryl dressed her in it yesterday to be sure it fit and she was so happy, I thought we should go ahead and get pictures, because our luck, she will hate it on Halloween and I HAD to have pictures for the blog! :-) Enjoy!

Punk Baby Mohawk

So yea.... she needs a little more hair, but hey - it's a start!
