Week 20 - HALF WAY POINT!

So we are at the half way point! Woo Hoo! We get to see Evan again this coming Friday. They saw a little white area in his heart which could either be just really dense muscle (which is fine) or calcification (which is ok, but could be an early marker for some things) but his/my blood work came back negative for the triple marker, so we aren't too worried about it, but will be good to know for sure and find out if we do need to see a cardiologist for our little man. He has been moving like CRAZY! It is so neat to see him moving around - he moves a lot more than Jamie did. Another active kid! :-)

Week 19

So my pictures are off now, I keep procrastinating so I'm 19.5 weeks. Oh well, you get the idea. :-)

I can see Evan kicking from the outside now which I always enjoyed with Jamie. It is so wild! He stretches a lot which is not very comfy but hey, I'm not the one stuck in a bag, so more power to him if he feels like stretching a bit.

Jamie is being SO sweet about Evan: giving my belly kisses, talking to him, and wanting to read her Big Sister books at bed time and talk about all the things she will do to help him when he is here.

So because I'll probably be induced a week early since Jamie was so hard to get out, we are past the half way point - YAY!!! We are looking forward to meeting our little boy.

Week 18

I am REALLY starting to feel Evan move around now. My mom was able to feel him on Monday. Jamie is sweet and will talk to Evan - she always says "Hey Evan, wacha doin' in there?" and wants to tickle him (via my belly). The blood work for birth defects came back negative which is always good to know. My hip has been hurting me some (sciatic nerve I think) but the nausea is gone!!! But now I have heartburn... which is MUCH better than being sick, so I will take it.

Week 17 - It's a BOY!

Hello World! I'm Evan Maddox Partin!
We were so excited to find out that we are having a boy this January! One of each - we are very lucky. I can't wait to see how Jamie is as a big sister. I'm also anxious to see what Even will look like. His profile is the same in his US as Jamie's was, so I wonder if he will have her little button nose? So exciting!

Week 16

Not much new going on. But I DID finally figure out how to convince Jamie to let me give her Pig Tails.... I called them Pirate Tails. The girls loves pirates, so I figured I'd give it a shot and asked her if she wanted Pirate Tails and she yelled "YES!" and viola! Pig Tails that she is happy to wear.
Jamie wanted to help daddy cut the grass.
And here is week 16 Belly Shot.
I'm starting to feel the baby move more now; I feel flutters a lot. I gained back the pound I lost so I'm at 3 total now. I still have bouts of morning sickness, but they are less frequent and less severe. I'm living in my new maternity shorts because they are so comfy!!!! Might as well get my moneys worth, right? We are very excited about Monday. I hope the baby cooperates and we find out boy or girl!

Week 15

And we are now at week 15. I've lost a pound, so I'm back to only gaining a pound so far. This is because I STILL have morning/all day sickness. I'm ready to not feel sick, but am more than happy to put up with it for a healthy peanut. :-) I think I'm going to have to give up my aerobics class and stick to running. The class is too intense and I can't just half way do it - I'm all or nothing when I work out and I almost passed out the other day, so running it is for now. I may go back... who knows!
Here is Jamie sporting the Apron I made her with the easel we bought her at Ikea. Only $14.99!
And the "great room swap" is progressing VERY well. The office is done, our room is almost back to normal (no more piles of things going to the attic - just 3 tubs now), the nursery closet just has Jamie's summer clothes now (since she is still living in there), The music room is ready for the piano, and Jamie's big girl room is about 1 work day away from being ready to be painted. We have about 2 trailers worth of garbage to haul off, and once that is done, we can finish! I'll be sure to post pics once the rooms are done.

Week 14

Welcome 2nd trimester! So my skin is looking better (no more teenager skin) but I'm still having bouts of morning (all day) sickness. Oh well. On the bright side both Daryl and I have felt the baby move!!! This kid is strong! And though Jamie still says "No Thank You" when asked if she wants to be a big sister, she always answers "YES!" if you ask her if she wants to be a pirate! Arrr! I made an apron for Jamie today while she took a nap... which is a rare occurrence these days. She takes maybe 2 naps a week now. BUT, she did stay dry during the whole 2 hour nap! So that is 5 days now of only big girl undies during the WHOLE day (and no accidents either) Go Jamie!! She has been staying dry in her pull-ups for a while now - I was just afraid to let go of that security blanket (for me) but she has been GREAT. So glad!!! And Jamie being cute before bed time wearing a pair of my old PJs. And speaking of "security blankets" Jamie chewed holes in the middle of all of her paci's so I told her she broke them and couldn't use them anymore. Since it was HER fault, she was ok with not getting one at bed time. Whew, glad she has sharp teeth - made my job a lot easier!

Week 13

Here we are at week 13! We went to our 13 week check-up on Monday. We heard peanut's heartbeat - although the doc had to hunt since peanut is really more of a jumping bean. You could hear the Doppler go "blop" and he said "That's the baby moving". After a few minutes of trying, he finally got baby's heartbeat. If the appointment lasted 30 minutes, 28 of those minutes were Daryl and the Doc talking about Marathons. haha. Daryl wore his Peachtree Road Race shirt and we started talking about running. The Doc DID get in there that we would be finding out what peanut is on August 9th! So excited!!!
Week 13 (Week 13 with Jamie) Me and my SIL before running the Peachtree. She had a hurt ankle so we ran together and finished in 1:11.

11th & 12th week

So my tummy has officially "popped". I went to bed normal and woke up with a bump. I'm now at the stage when the paparazzi start hounding famous people - either she has let herself go, or she is pregnant. Luckily, I'm not famous. :-) I have gained 2 lbs so far. I was hoping to make it to 13 weeks without gaining anything, but alas - July 4th did me in thanks to my grandmother's YUMMY lemon cake and the leftover pieces she gave me. I can still wear my old clothes, but only because they were too big on me to begin with. I'll wear some of my maternity clothes now when I feel so moved. Goodness knows they are so comfy!!! The morning sickness is almost gone, but I have been CRAVING naps!!! And of COURSE Jamie has decided to no longer take naps. She has been nice to just play in the bed beside me while I cat nap. I SWEAR I have felt peanut move a few times in the middle of the night when I stretch and roll over. A little wiggle. I can't wait to find out what we are having!!!! less than 8 weeks now!

And Baby Makes 4

So I figure I better get to posting! We are expecting Baby #2 on Jan. 14th, 2011! Can't wait to meet the new addition. WE found out the day before Mother's Day. I had already taken 3 tests because we new I was pregnant but just had to wait for my hormone levels to become high enough to confirm. Even my Doc didn't know how I would know so soon (at least 10 days early). But when you know, you know. Here are some pics from our first US. We have had another since then, but don't have those pics digital yet. At the last appt. Baby's HB was 170... another girl maybe? My gut told me boy early on, but now I don't know. We both knew Jamie would be a girl, but this one is up in the air for both of us. And of course: BELLY EVOLUTION - TAKE TWO!!! Yep - same outfit as Jamie. Should be interesting to compare. I started out 4 lbs heavier this time, but I had gained 2 lbs with Jamie by now and I haven't gained anything yet with this kid, so the pregnancy should be neck and neck and will be interesting to see if things look differently compared to with Jamie. I need to take week 11 pics (actually, should have yesterday). Have to remember to do them tonight.
10 Weeks 8 weeks 7 weeks 5 weeks
  • So morning sickness has been bad. With Jamie I had to avoid certain foods. With this one, I can only eat certain foods - hence the zero weight gain. But I have still been able to work out, so that is good. I would miss my aerobics classes. But I feel bigger. I think I'm a little swollen around the middle if I had to come up with a phrase, even though my measurements are all the same - weird. That's all I have to say about that.
  • Jamie doesn't quite understand that another person is going to move into her territory. We try to talk about it and she says she will help change diapers and bring the baby blankets so at least she isn't saying anything negative, other than when I ask her if she wants to be a big sister and she says "No, thank you"
  • I'm ready to be able to eat real food. I have been living off carbs for almost 5 weeks now. I actually food processed some squash and mixed it with my mac and cheese* to get some veggies in my system... I'm having to use kid tricks on myself!!! *of course Jamie noticed the taste difference right away and refused to eat it... sigh.
  • We are rearranging rooms here to make room for baby. The guestroom is becoming our office. My upstairs office is becoming Jamie's room, Jamie's room will stay the nursery and the downstairs office will become a music room. The playroom will stay the playroom.
  • Jamie's playground will be installed on FRIDAY!!! So excited! The new carpet for the office will also arrive that day. And then we go to get our Peachtree Road Race #'s and a trip to Ikea. Fun filled Friday! Thanks to Nana who will keep Jamie whilst we do our running around.
  • Oh yea, I'm running the Peachtree this year for the first time... in the heat.... 3 months pregnant... with morning/all day sickness... oh lord.

Campin'

We went camping this weekend to Watson Mill Bridge is Comer GA. We had a really great time even though it was FREEZING cold the night we stayed. It was Jamie's first camping trip and she did great. She loved sleeping in a tent and playing in the great outdoors.
Our attempt at fishing - we didn't catch anything but a stick.
Jamie LOVED the rapids and they ended up wading WAY out there. She loves the water.

Fun filled 2010

Ok, so I am still a slacker. I have been updating Facebook over the blog but need to do both, so here is my attempt to catch up. First off, we went to Disney in January so Daryl could run the Disney Marathon. He did a great job and finished in just over 4 hours. Jamie LOVED the characters!!! She thought they were so neat and loved on all of them. Jamie also had her first haircut while we were there. Some pictures of Jamie being her happy little self. She LOVES to dance... Show of bed-head.... Play indoors... And outside.... ESPECIALLY in the snow. She asks to "build a no-man" a lot. Here she is playing with her neighborhood buddy, Nathan. He is 9 months younger and sweet as can be. I had to go to Boston for a business trip. Never been before, so that was pretty cool. Went to see Menopause the Musical with my friend Jill and our moms. Our mom's are best buds, too. Jamie is learning so fast. She is just getting to be such a big girl.
  • She is becoming a climber now - I'm thankful that was a skill she waited to learn.
  • She can open ALL the door knobs, but didn't try to leave... until today... we will be buying knob covers tomorrow.
  • She can read a few words (the ones that are repeated over and over in her books)
  • She is getting much better at counting
  • She is doing GREAT with coloring. She works so hard to stay in the lines and becomes so serious when she is coloring - totally ignores us.
  • She has been in her big girl bed since January and has only been back to our bed twice - once when we had a guest and needed her bed, and once for some reason that I can't remember - but YAY - she is sleeping thru the night and out of our bed (although I must admit we miss her sometimes.) :-)
  • She has been sleeping without her paci for the past week. I just didn't give it to her one night and she hasn't asked for it since. Go figure she is being so easy with this whole sleep thing!
  • She is still progressing with the potty training. We need to make her stay in big girl undies more. When we put her in pull-ups, she doesn't always tell us when she needs to go. But #2 - she ALWAYS tells us - Hallelujah for that.
  • She is in the phase now where I can kiss a boo boo and it is instantly better - I like that. :-)
  • She loves to make up songs and dance. She thinks it is fun to exercise with us and she is so cute trying to do the work out moves with us.
  • She is just a complete joy - when she isn't having a melt down - which luckily are few and mostly happen because she has skipped a nap that day - which she skips about every few days now.
I will try to do better about posting!!!

A verbal update

So blogger won't let me upload pictures (which is why I've been delayed in the first place) so I will take this opportunity to give an update on Jamie beyond pictures.
  • She had her two year check up and is 29 lbs 31 in (but when I measured her at home, she was closer to 33 - she did NOT like them measuring her).
  • She LOVES to sing, dance, color, and play with her baby dolls and Wonder Pets toys.
  • She knows most of the alphabet and is starting to understand that numbers equate amounts and will try to count things.
  • She can draw faces - eyes, nose, mouth, then a ring around it all for the head, then ears, hair and the occasional hat.
  • She loves playing with her Geo Trax train my dad bought her for Christmas and the food set Santa brought her. You "cut" the wooden food that is pre sliced and held together with Velcro.
  • She is in the "What's that?" phase and asks it about everything and pretty much remembers what we tell her and will bring it up later when quizzed.
  • If she could be anywhere, it would be outside. And now that she has her own roller skates and has experienced the speed of it all with Daryl wearing his roller blades and scooting her along, she is HOOKED.
  • She loves everyone to sing when she sings and will point to you until you do.
  • The phrases I hear the most are: "Don't worry mommy, I help you." "I do it!" "Try again" "That's Silly/Funny/Fun!" "Oh my goodness." "I watch Cartoon?" "Mommy, we go playroom play Wonder Pets?"
  • Potty training is going VERY well. She will tell me every time for #2 and will tell me #1 when we are away from home (mostly because she likes checking out the sinks at different places). At home, it is more us just putting her on the potty regularly, but she will tell us about twice a day when she needs to go while at home.
  • She loves animals and is obsessed with the Wonder Pets.... like, I think she needs a support group. :-)
  • She is very polite and says please, thank you, no thanks & your welcome pretty much all the time.
  • She is very sweet and gives great hugs and kisses and likes to fall asleep rubbing my arm.
  • When she wakes up from her naps, she likes to snuggle, which I LOVE and just eat that time up. She will rub my face and say "I wuv you mommy." and give me a big smooch and make the "MMmmmmMwah!" sound.
On the hubby front, he is training for his first Marathon (The Disney one) and we are really excited about that. Looking forward to taking Jamie again (who am I kidding, I can't wait to go for me, either!). I'm very proud of him. He has worked so hard. I'm very impressed.

Turkey Day - I know I'm behind!

I'm painfully behind..... so here are some pictures from Thanksgiving....
I ran my first 10K! It was the morning of Thanksgiving... and it was COLD!
The runners. Jared (in the middle) won the race!
Then we all went over to Deeshia's parents for Thanksgiving Lunch. Here is a pic of the Grandparents
