We celebrated 2 birthdays this weekend. Saturday was Miss Marleigh's 1st Birthday party and Sunday was my grandfather's 81st Birthday. Needless to say, we had a VERY busy weekend!!! Here are some pics of all the fun!

The Romance Continues....

Oh George... How Jamie loves you. Jamie did this all by herself when I was working in the breakfast area.... The Blue chair is between us so when I heard her going "awww" I stood up and saw that she had gotten on her Pooh Car and put George up there with her. Girl loves that curious little monkey.

Off to the playroom (We are having our furniture recovered next month - if we can find the fabric we like - YAY!!)

Birthdays & Buddies

We celebrated Gloria & Deeshia (MIL & SIL) Birthdays this weekend - they have the same birthday. We went to Red Lobster which ALWAYS makes me happy because I love it and Daryl hates it so I only get to go on their birthday because Gloria loves it too. Here J & I are with the birthday girls. Daryl and I matched - but not on purpose. Funny thing is, we matched again today. Before long we will be wearing matching Hawaiian shirts and knee socks with sandals. When we came home, we put on PJs and had some play time. I came downstairs and saw Miss Jamie playing Legos on Daryl's belly. So cute. I had to take some pictures.
"Tasty Legos, huh dad?"I can't resist her feet!
This is a great picture of her 2 new bottom canine teeth.

Catching Up

So I thought I better catch up on some of the things that went on this week. Aunt Deeshia came and baby sat Jamie while I took my MIL to the eye doctor. Jamie had SUCH a good time!
Jamie is becoming a stair pro. She likes to walk up them (holding onto our hands) but will crawl if she must.
Jamie has been having napping strikes. She has gone from having either a 10:00&3:00 or 1:00 nap to not wanting to take a nap at all. She fights it tooth and nail. The first day of the strike - this is what happened on our walk at 4:55. She is getting better though and after 5 days, today she took a nap at 1:30.
Jamie making a silly face.
Her bath time Mohawk tonight.
Jamie is starting to get a little stronger independent streak and wants to do things for herself and starts throwing things or screaming if we try to do them for her. Great. At least she wants to learn, so I should be happy. Her fine motor skills are improving. She can put playing cards into their box and back out again, and will do this over and over. She can put her mega bloks (big Lego's) together and build things and can stack and combine her boxes that go into each other. She loves building towers with her boxes and little wooden blocks. She has also become infatuated with putting fabric on her head... I think she is trying to wear them. So when she did it to Daryl's sweater, I put it on her. Too Cute!!! They grow up so fast!!!

I'm ready for my close up

Today we FINALLY had Jamie's One Year pictures and family pictures taken! Only 2 months too late, but I think they turned out pretty well. They were running 40 minutes late, and it was already dangerously close to Jamie's nap time at our ACTUAL time, so needless to say, she did NOT want to smile (hence there only being one good picture in her second outfit). Oh well. Enjoy!

A Curious Love

So Jamie has never had a "lovey": no favorite doll, or blanket, or anything like that. Anything we put in her crib, she throws out. We put a blanket on her, she throws it off. She has no love for the soft or plushy. Recently, however, the tides are beginning to change. She will love on a stuffed animal or baby doll for a second or two and say "aww" as she tucks it on her chin and pats it. But then it usually gets tossed and off to play with her books, blocks or things that go beep. This all changed when she received Night Time Curious George. When you squeeze him, he yawns and plays the first verse of twinkle twinkle little star. She received it for Christmas from my Sis-in-law's parents. We reintroduced it to J 3 days ago and Jamie has carried George around for a good hour 3 days in a row (that's YEARS compared to her other soft toys). She can't make him play his song yet so we have to squeeze him for her and she starts yelling "AHHH" right before the song ends. Here are some pictures of her lovin' on George.
In other news,
  • Jamie is now up to 12 teeth and is cutting numbers 13 & 14 two months early (her canines aren't supposed to come in until 16 - 20 months).
  • She is fascinated by bellies and will yank at your shirt and say "bey-yee?"
  • When she knows she isn't supposed to do something or doesn't like what we are doing to her, she will say "nooooh nooooh nooooh"
  • Her vocabulary is increasing: light "aight", Belly "Bey-yee", Paci "paaa-di", Dog "og" or "oof oof", Monkey "onkey" or "ooh ooh ahh ahh", Blue "Boo", Balloon "Boon", Silly "Si-ye", I love you "I-U", Shoe "shoe" - Shoe is her word for all things relating to feet and her default word if she doesn't know what to call something - girl LOVES shoes.
  • She understand SOOO much now. When I aks her if she wants to go to bed or night night, she heads straight for the stairs. If you say a room upstairs, she will go to it, or if I say time to brush teeth, she will head to her bathroom. We ask her to hand us something, and she gets it right about 90% of the time (like a certain color block - she is best at blue). If you ask for a hug or kiss, she will give you one - if she feels like it. If not, she will laugh and shake her head no and smack you on the face with her hand.
  • When she wants something, she will point and say VERY loudly "AHHHH". We try to teach her the proper word, but she knows what works. Stinker!
  • She is practically running now. She is SO fast. I actually had a night mare about her running away from me in a warehouse - I doubt I will be taking her to any warehouses any time soon. ha-ha.

It is crazy how fast they grow and change!! We love every second of it.

Rock Band 2.... Jamie's Jam Session

I bought Rock Band 2 with my Christmas money from my grandmomma. We have been playing it like crazy and of course Jamie wanted to get in on that action - She loves to play the Freestyle Game.

And here J and I are on the way out to see some sparklers.

We celebrated New Years at Daryl's Bro's house with their family and the neighbors across the street... what did we do? Ate Pizza and Played Rock Band!!! Hope you all had a great New Year's and have a wonderful 2009!
