My Poor Baby!!!
Poor Jamie.... we were scheduled to go to the doc today for her 6 month check-up and shots... well, she woke up this morning with a 104.3 temp. After a cool bath and some Tylenol, it came down to 101.9 and we went to her scheduled appt. at 1:00.
.
Once there, they checked her hemoglobin - looked good. She weighs 21 lb 10 oz and is 26.5 inches long. then the Dr. came in. Jamie didn't have any symptoms that went with the fever, the only thing it could be is a bladder infection so she had to have a catheter TWICE to get urine to test to see if that is what it is. She had a shot of antibiotic and might have another one tomorrow if her white blood cell count is still up. Poor thing!!! Her fever is staying down, hovering around 101 and appears to be in good spirits. Hopefully she will feel better soon!

FYI -- I have no idea if the antibiotic shot was like the 2 that D got with his last ear infection before tubes, but he ended up with horrible messys to the point they thought he had Rotovirus -- that's when we ended up in the ER to get fluid! I think it was a combination of that and the other 4 antibiotics he had been on in the window of 20 days! His system was all messed up! At least the tubes have cleared this up! Hopefully Jamie won't experience the yucky poos! :) It took D about a week for it to hit him good -- even though they are shots they are suppose to stay in their systems for a couple of weeks. Kiss her for me! It is NO fun when your baby isn't feeling well!
I'm sooo sorry. I know as a parent you'd much rather be sick yourself than to watch your baby be sick-especially when it involves a painful catheder intertion-OUCH! Keep us posted and feel better soon Jamie!
p.s.-I've never heard of an antibiotic shot...let me know how it pans out.
Oh no! This sounds terrible. Bless her poor little heart. :(
Good luck - Hope she doesn't have to go through all the testing that Tatum did with her UTI's and Bladder infections - it was NO FUN!!! I hope she gets better really really soon!
Wow, you must have flipped at that 104 temp! That's awesome that you were already scheduled to go in that day though. Talk about Luck!
I hope she's doing better very quickly! 21 pounds!!!! WOWZA! She better start walking early for you or your going to have some SERIOUS biceps momma!!! Lindsay is 26. That blows my mind! Nothing bad to be said for cute, cuddly babies though!!!
