Go Fly a Kite & Make Me a Sandwich!

We bought Jamie a kite for Valentine's Day and decided to take it out for a spin since it was so windy today. Here is Daryl and Jamie flying it.
Daryl is very good at flying kites Mommy didn't do so well....
And our super neighbors brought over a kitchen for Jamie today. Their twins have outgrown it so they generously gave it to us. Jamie instantly went to it and started cooking (she does not get this trait from me). Jamie needs a toy box. You can see where everything that was hanging out in the corner of her playroom is pushed to the side. Daryl is going to make her one pretty soon.

New friends and new furniture

Daryl's company outing was today. Jamie made an instant friend out of another couple's 12 month old little boy. They were feeling the love. They would fall over while hugging, hence the support from his mom. And here is our new couch and chair-and-a-halfAnd here is Jamie on the couch showing her nose... her ear... and her mouth! She became too bored to show eyes & hair... maybe next time.

15 Month Check-up

27 lbs (95% - YAY she is finally on the charts!)

31 in (75%)

She had 4 shots today and was NONE too happy with them. It was very dramatic.

In other developmental news, Jamie knows 57 words (Blame Nicole for posting a list of Walker's words because I totally stole the idea from her!)

We inadvertently started potty training this week. 2 weeks ago I brought out her potty to get her used to the idea of it being around and she immediately went over to it with a book and sat down and started reading.... backwards. So Close! The next week I started sitting her on the potty (forwards, mind you) right before time to put on PJs, and 3 of the 5 times, she went in the potty, then on the 5th day, she grabbed her bottom right before nap time so I asked her "do you want to go potty?" and she started clapping her hands. I sat her on the potty and she did #2 so I figured, what the hey, let's give this a try and yesterday she went in her potty 4 times for #1 and 1 time for #2. so YAY Jamie! Today she has gone once so far, but that is more me than her because we were out a lot today and I haven't asked her about going. So we'll see how this goes. I'm not pushing it since she is young yet and I don't want to stress her out over it... no need for performance anxiety already!!!

She has had two play dates now and one birthday party with a precious little girl that lives up the street that just turned 2. They have so much fun together. It is so cute to watch them interact. And it helps that her mom is totally cool too (we hang out a lot outside of play-date-land, so it was about time we had the girls get together!) - this is the best picture I could get of them - like hearding kittens!!!

I know I'm probably leaving out a ton of stuff.... she is just so much fun to be around and has a great sense of humor. I love to take her out and watch her interact with people. She loves sucking in people with that big smile of hers and the wrinkled little nose. We laugh and say "she's caught another one - REAL 'EM IN!" She is just becoming a fun little toddler. I love being her mommy!!!

Feeling the Love

In honor of Valentine's Day, here are a few things that Jamie loves (and an excuse for me to put some random pictures from this week and last that have nothing to do with each other in one blog).
Jamie's Valentine's Day picture we used for the grandparent's cards.
Jamie LOVES her Legos And Jamie LOVES to play with anything that she can throw and/or kick.
And Jamie LOVES her cousins.... even if they ignore her will playing my old-school Playstation.

Daddy's Little Helper

We bought some new chairs for the front porch and Jamie helped Daryl put them together.

"Here, Let me hold that for you."
"Let me show you how it's done." "Are you doing that right, dad?"
"Hug Break!"
"Ahhh... Success!"

The Romance Continues....

Oh George... How Jamie loves you. Jamie did this all by herself when I was working in the breakfast area.... The Blue chair is between us so when I heard her going "awww" I stood up and saw that she had gotten on her Pooh Car and put George up there with her. Girl loves that curious little monkey.
Trying to hug George
Off to the playroom (We are having our furniture recovered next month - if we can find the fabric we like - YAY!!)

Birthdays & Buddies

We celebrated Gloria & Deeshia (MIL & SIL) Birthdays this weekend - they have the same birthday. We went to Red Lobster which ALWAYS makes me happy because I love it and Daryl hates it so I only get to go on their birthday because Gloria loves it too. Here J & I are with the birthday girls. Daryl and I matched - but not on purpose. Funny thing is, we matched again today. Before long we will be wearing matching Hawaiian shirts and knee socks with sandals. When we came home, we put on PJs and had some play time. I came downstairs and saw Miss Jamie playing Legos on Daryl's belly. So cute. I had to take some pictures.
"Tasty Legos, huh dad?"I can't resist her feet!
This is a great picture of her 2 new bottom canine teeth.
